Labor Wynn rolls out career pathways for locals through new development programs

Wynn has launched its “Wynn Shining Talents Ceremony 2026” , kicking off a focus on cultivating career opportunities for local employees in the SAR.

The Wynn Local Development Program 2026 , in collaboration with the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), includes 13 sub-programs.

“The launch of the specialized recruitment programs with DSAL allows the company to attract young people to the hospitality industry with a more targeted approach,” Wynn said in a statement.

According to the integrated resort, the Wynn Local Development Program aims to create structured career pathways, enhance skills across operational and managerial roles, and support the development of the city’s tourism and hospitality workforce.

Over the past two years, the program has recruited 169 local participants and achieved a retention rate exceeding 80%. To date, 40 trainees have graduated and been promoted, while others continue their on-the-job training, expected to conclude starting this year.

This year, the program features two additional areas: information technology and customer relationship management, offering courses such as data analysis and customer experience strategy.

The program applies a “hire-and-train” approach and includes trainee-friendly admission policies, waiving previous job experience or bachelor’s degree requirements for certain roles to broaden opportunities.

“Trainees will embark on a journey of specialized training for 12-36 months across departments such as hotel services, food & beverage, security, and facilities, gaining professional expertise through systematic training for gradual career promotion,” the integrated resort said.

Local management development initiative

The Wynn Management Foundation Program, launched concurrently, targets more than 80 high-potential local employees at managerial or supervisory levels.

Over 12 months, participants receive comprehensive training in leadership, team management, and international best practices. The program is intended to enhance participants’ capabilities, broaden their perspectives, and strengthen the local management talent pool in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Through this initiative, Wynn aims to ensure that its workforce is equipped to meet both operational and strategic demands, fostering a capable and professional management backbone within the company and across the integrated tourism sector.

Investing in the tourism and leisure sector

Since 2015, Wynn has implemented structured training programs in areas including food & beverage, hotel operations, and facilities management.

“Wynn has introduced structured training programs, successfully fostering a new generation of hospitality professionals in areas such as food & beverage, hotel operations, and facilities management. These initiatives have actively contributed to the overall improvement of Macau’s tourism services,” Wynn said.

“These initiatives have actively contributed to the overall enhancement of Macau’s tourism services,” it added.

Moving forward, the integrated resort pledged that it will continue working with all sectors of society to “nurture a new generation of industry professionals with innovation, competitiveness, and a global vision through diverse training models and international exposure.” MDT Review
