Macau hotels earn record nine Michelin Keys in 2026 selection

The city received its first-ever Three Keys distinction and has strengthened its standing as a global hospitality destination, with nine hotels recognized in the newly released 2026 MichelinKey selection.

City of Dreams – Morpheus, named after the Greek god of dreams and designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid, was elevated from Two to Three Keys, the highest honor in the guide’s hotel awards. The property, known for its futuristic steel-exoskeleton design, was cited for combining innovative architecture, luxury dining and personalized guest services.

Banyan Tree Macau also advanced, moving from One to Two Keys. The hotel was recognized for its all-suite concept featuring private relaxation pools. Grand Lisboa Palace and Palazzo Versace maintained their Two Keys status.

In total, 19 hotels across Macau and Hong Kong received distinctions this year. Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong and Mandarin Oriental The Landmark were promoted or newly awarded Two Keys. Rosewood Hong Kong joined Morpheus among the region’s Three Keys properties.

On an international scale, the Michelin Guide’s hotel selection grew to 2,832 properties receiving Keys. The breakdown comprises 155 hotels at the Three Key level, 657 at Two Keys and 2,020 at One Key. For 2026, the guide extended its hotel awards into 10 additional destinations, spanning Armenia to Zimbabwe, and added close to 470 newly recognized hotels.

According to the international director of the Michelin Guide, “The extraordinary momentum driving the hospitality sector is reflected in this second global selection of the Michelin Keys.”
