Macau shines in thrilling Fairtex Fight Muay Thai event

The Londoner Macao was the scene of an electrifying night of Muay Thai action on August 24, as Sands China Ltd., in partnership with Fairtex Fight and Tero Entertainment, hosted the first-ever ‘Fairtex Fight Muay Thai Boxing’ event in Macau.

The fight card featured a lineup of regional and Thai competitors. When the action got underway, the capacity crowd was treated to a night of thrilling Muay Thai bouts.

Macau’s Bryant Ng defeated Hong Kong’s North Yip in a close match decided by just one point. Li Xiancheng then overpowered Lai Hon Yuen, winning 30-27, while Khong Dech edged out Shi Shaohuai by the same score.

The highlights continued as Fha Phichit scored a knockout victory over Liu Kinming, and Wingyan Yip defeated Li Lishan 30-27. Meng Baian won a close battle against Fah Jarad, 29-28, before Sit Thi Chai dominated Pak Yuleung 30-26.

In the final two bouts, Sek San defeated So Tsz Hin 29-28, and Chat Phet emerged victorious over Che Huashuo by the same margin.

The event’s success is expected to boost the popularity of Muay Thai across Asia and is part of Sands China’s commitment to bringing world-class sporting events to Macau.

“We hope to take advantage of the opportunity for top boxers to compete in Macau to encourage local young boxers to do their best and strive for the top. We also hope to leverage Macau’s unique advantages in hosting sports events to attract more athletes and spectators to visit Macau,” said Grant Chum, CEO and executive director of Sands China, in a press conference last last week.
