Macau strengthens regional ties through tourism

2-Zhongshan-IMG_0023The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) this week attended a preparatory work meeting in Nansha, Guangzhou to determine this year’s “multi-destination” promotional activities for tourism between Macau and Nansha.
Macau and Nansha’s tourism authorities will explore possible ways to boost tourism, such as by launching multi-destination tours to Macau and Nansha.
The Macau delegation discussed the joint tourism projects rolled out between the three destinations in 2015, prompting the Zhongshan Municipal Tourism Bureau to suggest a plan for regional cooperation in tourism between Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Macau in 2016. All three parties approved the plan.
The three tourism authorities will promote their shared image of “Fragrant Hill in the past: Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Macau today.” They will also roll out joint promotional activities in mainland cities along the high-speed rail routes between Wuhan and Guangzhou, in order to encourage tourists to visit all three destinations in a single trip.
Moreover, authorities plan to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Chinese political leader Sun Yat-Sen.
