From August 16 to September 7, the Cinematheque-Passion will present “Mad & Mazzy – Fantasy Film Festival”, transforming the cinema into a sensory playground during the summer holidays.
Inspired by the “Seven Emotions and Six Desires” theme, the “Mad & Mazzy – Fantasy Film Festival” brings together a curated selection of recent fantasy films, showcasing over twenty works across various genres.
Highlights from the six themed sections include, Silent Trilogy, a new silent-film-inspired work by acclaimed Finnish director Juho Kuosmanen and winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival; Master Cheng, a Finland-China co-produced culinary drama starring this year’s Hong Kong Film Awards Best Supporting Actor Chu Pak Hong, which portrays how Chinese cuisine bridges different cultures; and the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film-nominated psychological thriller The Girl with the Needle, a chilling black-and-white film based on Denmark’s infamous “angel of death” murder case.
More information is available on the Cinematheque-Passion website.
