Man beats girlfriend’s two cats in anger over damaged sneakers

Police recently arrested a local man accused of repeatedly beating two cats behind his girlfriend’s back, venting his anger over her pets damaging his sneakers.
According to the Public Security Police (PSP), the cats sustained injuries to their legs and eyes and have been sent to the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) for examination.
On August 17, police received a report from the female owner, who discovered the cats’ injuries under unknown circumstances.
After reviewing home surveillance footage, it was revealed that her boyfriend had entered her residence without consent using a spare key on August 12 and assaulted the cats with a folding fan, broom, and his feet.
The investigation showed that the suspect, in his thirties, attacked the cats three times to vent his anger, including incidents on August 10 and 11, when he assaulted them while the victim was sleeping and showering.
Reports indicate that the suspect began a romantic relationship with the cat owner last month but did not live with her. She had explicitly told the boyfriend that she needed to be present before anyone could enter the unit.
The suspect allegedly attacked the cats because one had bitten and damaged his sneakers, claiming he beat them to vent his anger, using excessive force that even broke the broom.
Following the investigation, police have transferred the case to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) for further handling, including charges of cruelty to animals, trespassing, and property damage. YL
