Sector salaries reach highest level in a decade

The average salary in the gaming sector has reached its highest level in the past 10 years, according to the latest data.
Workers in the industry currently earn about MOP27,400 per month on average, representing an increase of MOP6,400 compared to a decade ago, as cited in a TDM report.
Since 2023, non-resident workers have recorded higher average salaries than local employees.
However, this trend is largely attributed to pay differences at the management level. Foreign executives in senior positions earn an average of MOP90,000 per month, marking a new record.
By comparison, resident executives earn about MOP66,000. This gap raises the overall average for non-resident employees above that of residents.
The data also highlights considerable salary volatility among non-resident workers over the past decade.
One notable case is intermediate-level technicians. In 2015, they earned around MOP36,000, roughly MOP10,000 more than residents, and peaked at MOP42,000 two years later.
Currently, their average monthly salary has dropped to about MOP27,000, one of the lowest figures on record, and about MOP2,000 less than resident counterparts. Times Reporter
