The annual event will take place this year on Sunday, December 4, with the start and finish locations both situated inside the stadium of the Olympic Sport Centre. Man arrested for attempted smuggling of liquid cocaine

A Peruvian national was busted for attempting to smuggle 50 wrapped liquid cocaine inside his body, the first case of liquid drug trafficking found in the peninsula. After landing at the Macau International Airport last week, the man was asked to undergo a full body scan because his behavior was suspicious, and was later escorted to a hospital, as cited in a TDM report. After a medical exam, the suspect was found to be carrying some 50 pieces of wrapped liquid cocaine inside his body, which weighed a total of 1.6 kilos.  According to the Judiciary Police (PJ), the seized drugs have a total market value of approximately MOP10 million. The suspect admitted that it was his second time trafficking drugs to the region and he was to receive a fine of USD5,000 for it.

Two sites available for waste batteries

The Environment Protection Bureau (DSPA) revealed that there are two sites now available for the recycling of batteries in town. Aside from the DSPA headquarters, the other collection center is located at the Estação de Tratamento de Resíduos Especiais e Perigosos de Macau (ETRPM), located at Avenida Son On, Lote U2, Pac-On, in Taipa. The two sites accept both primary and rechargeable batteries, including button shape, AA batteries, batteries for tools such as mobile phones, notebook computers, and some specialized batteries. Any associations or groups in charge of organizing battery recycling activities are urged to contact the DSPA before sending all batteries to the department.
