MGM launches ‘Taste from Chengdu’ culinary collaboration

MGM has launched a new chapter of its “Silk Road Art Feasts” series, bringing two leading Sichuan chefs to Macau for a three-day collaboration at Five Foot Road at MGM Cotai. The program, running from March to August, features chefs from Chengdu, Xi’an, Dunhuang and Beijing, blending intangible cultural heritage with contemporary cuisine.

The inaugural event, themed “Taste from Chengdu,” takes place March 5-7 and pairs Chinese Culinary Master Zhang Yuanfu with Yang Dengquan, executive sous chef of the Michelin-starred Five Foot Road.

The eight-course menu showcases classic Sichuan flavors alongside Macau ingredients, including braised fish maw, crispy Australian M5 grass-fed steak with Sichuan peppercorns, and steamed local fourfinger threadfin in lychee flavor.

“The culinary experience is further enriched with elements of crafted intangible cultural artistry, including Shu embroidery, the classic long-spout copper teapot tea art performance, and the iconic Sichuan Opera face-changing act,” the statement from the gaming operator reads.
