The signature event, marketed to rock the town with a 12-day authentic German bierfest, will run until Nov. 5.
MGM promises an array of surprises in addition to classic German cuisine as well as live performances from HÖGL FUN BAND—returning with their theme song “Nei Hou, Macau!”—and traditionally dressed German performers.
Supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the German Macau Business Association, the event was launched with the traditional beer keg tapping ceremony by president and executive director of MGM China Holdings Limited, Kenneth Feng.
“Since MGM introduced this traditional German cultural mega event to Macau in 2009, Oktoberfest Macau at MGM has developed as a signature extravaganza of gastronomy and entertainment in town,” Feng said, further adding that the event represents “the synergy of gastronomy, creativity, culture, festivals, and tourism”, with more than 180,000 attendees since its commencement.
This year, MGM introduces authentic Munich snacks and vegetarian dishes, notably their Roasted Pork Shoulder with Potato Dumpling and Dark Beer Sauce, Spaetzle Gratin with Caramelized Onions and Cheese, and Bratwurst Sausage.
Featuring blue-and-white Bavarian patterned beer tents, guests can enjoy an authentic German Oktoberfest alongside traditional Löwenbräu brew, German food and beverage, and waitresses in dirndl costumes.
