Yu Changjiang, commander of the Sansha military garrison in Hainan Province, has been appointed as commander of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Garrison in the SAR. Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, signed an order recently for the appointment, said Wang Hui, spokesperson of the PLA garrison in Macau. Yu vowed to fully implement the ‘One country, two systems’ principle, and carry out defence duties in accordance with the Basic Law of the SAR and the law on stationing troops in Macau.
