The number of new companies registered in Macau has decreased by 45 quarter-on-quarter to 1,134 in the third quarter (Q3) of this year, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
According to the same release, the total value of capital of these new companies rose 66% to MOP255 million. Data also shows that dissolved companies decreased by 131 quarter-on-quarter to 234 in Q3. Moreover, most of new companies were operating in Wholesale & Retail Trade and Business Services. The capital of these new companies originates from Macau, the mainland, and Hong Kong. Of the new companies incorporated in Q3, 774 had a share capital under MOP50,000, while 23 had a share capital of MOP1 million or over.
