Zhuhai will introduce new regulations to allow more Hong Kong, Macau and foreign health professionals to work in Guangdong-Macau in-depth cooperation zone in Hengqin, Zhuhai city, according to a press conference on Zhuhai’s annual legislative work recently.

Through legislation, Zhuhai aims at providing more convenience for Macau residents to work and live in the In-depth zone in Hengqin.

In recent years, several local regulations have been issued to provide convenience and legal protection for Hong Kong and Macau professionals in the field of medicine, architecture, law, social work and tourism to work in Hengqin, followed by a series of cross-border professional qualification and practice measures.

So far, a total of 204 residents from Hong Kong and Macao have been licensed to practice law in the mainland GBA cities. And there are now 60 Macao doctors working at Hengqin Hospital. Previously, doctors in Hong Kong and Macao have to pass the mainland qualification exams to practice at mainland hospitals.
