A new racing team project is being launched by local rider João Fernandes, aiming to achieve “the best results in the shortest time possible.”
According to a press release: in the long term, CF Racing Team 32 “is planning to compete at World Championship level and develop the perfect platform for Macau riders to find a professional and highly competitive team to back up their career progress.”
For this year, the team’s goal is to finish with two riders inside the top 10 at the 61st Macau Grand Prix.
Supported by Maco Racing, the team will compete with a factory-supported Yamaha R1 2014, with a strong backup from Dunlop.
The team will compete with Andre Pires from Portugal and Allan-Jon Venter from South Africa. Both riders raced for the first time in Macau in 2013.
“Both are young, talented riders, and with the right team behind them, we believe they can fight for a podium position in 2015. That’s our goal with them, and we’ve secured them already for a two year deal,” CF Racing Team representatives announced.
