Online group lists major problems for CE candidates

The online group Macau People’s Association released a public letter addressing the Electoral College and urging the CE candidate to promise to improve several negative issues.
The association said that according to their online survey, 48 percent of respondents believed the bureaucratic corruption has “obviously deteriorated” and 35 percent said it is “deteriorated”, compared to 2009 when the third term of the current CE began. 71 percent of interviewees deemed hegemony of property developers “obviously deteriorated”. The third issue pointed out by the survey was unfair opportunities among Macau people, such as the increase of social status and freedom of expression. 44 percent thought it has “obviously deteriorated” and 28 percent said it has worsened.
Given the mentioned results, the association said that the Electoral College should question the sole CE candidate (Chui Sai On) on these three issues and request him to give promises on how to improve within the issues in the next five-year term.
The association is an online entity and declares that they have no possession of properties, are not seeking or accepting financial assistance, and do not participate in business or profit events.
