Over 1,300 locals take recruitment exam for Hengqin jobs

Over 1,300 local residents took part in a written examination on Saturday to recruit personnel for the executive committee in Hengqin.
According to the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone Administration and Legal Affairs Bureau, a total of 1,304 residents successfully sat for the exam to fill 50 vacancies.
Organizers said the recruitment initially drew interest from over 4,500 local applicants, but after a first round of screening based on résumés, the number was reduced to just over 1,400 candidates eligible to take the written exam.
The examination was conducted simultaneously at two test centers: Hengqin Ziqi School and Ronghong Primary School in Zhuhai, with applicants divided into 48 examination rooms.
Organizers said the attendance rate was 91.44%, the highest ever recorded for recruitment examinations targeting Macau residents in the cooperation zone.
Data show that 781 candidates who qualified for the written exam held Macau Comprehensive Ability Assessment scores, an exam administered locally for those seeking public sector jobs.
Organizers noted that these candidates will receive bonus points.
To facilitate attendance, organizers also provided a free shuttle bus service between Hengqin Port and the examination venues, which was reportedly used by over 500 candidates.
