Police nab two mainlanders, one dealer for chip embezzlement

MACAU STANLEY HOTwo mainlanders teamed up with a croupier to embezzle a total of HKD141,300 worth of chips in multiple efforts throughout the past month in a casino situated on the Cotai Strip, according to PJ authorities who arrested the trio last Saturday.
The 35-year-old dealer had caught the security guards’ attention since August 3 with his “bizarre acts” on duty. Two weeks later, the casino watchdogs reported him to the police after spotting the embezzlement under intensified surveillance targeting the male croupier.
It was said that on that day the man and woman, aged 39 and 29 respectively and hailing from the mainland, approached the dealer, who was stationed at a roulette table, with seven stacks of chips comprising 20 HKD100 chips per stack. The pair would then leave the table with stacks of equivalent size, yet additional HKD1,000 tokens were wedged in between the chips.
