Two locals, a man in his 30s and a woman in her 40s, were involved in two attempted suicide cases just two days ago. Information from the police reveals that the man was driving his wife and their three-year-old child to a basketball court near the Macau Tower when he suddenly became emotional and threatened to jump into the sea. His wife then held the toddler and chased him, claiming that she would jump with him. The police and Fire Service (CB) later arrived at the scene and successfully persuaded the couple to drop the idea. In the other case, the woman was attempting to jump from the balcony of her apartment in Taipa. CB had opened an inflatable airbed below. The woman was eventually dragged back into the apartment. Police revealed that she had a history of mental troubles.
