Rosário to explain 16 idle land plots’ exclusion

Chief Executive Chui Sai On has clarified that the exclusion of 16 idle land plots from the government’s recovery list completely followed legal and administrative procedures. This suggests that the failure to make use of those land plots was not attributed to the leaseholders but to the government. According to Chui, development in the 16 plots was hindered by factors such as changes in the location’s urban planning and in the plot’s intended use. Chui told media during his visit to Beijing yesterday that the Secretary for Transport and Public Works will further explain the matter to the Legislative Assembly next week.

The annual security exercise at Macau International Airport took place early yesterday morning simulating an unlawful seizure of an aircraft. The exercise involved a simulated scenario where a foreign political organization, which committed several terrorist attacks in its own country, unlawfully seized an aircraft and requested to land at Macau International Airport. The airport immediately activated its emergency plan to handle the incident, and eventually rescued the passengers and crew members. The goal of the exercise was deemed to have been achieved.
