Sands China bilingual publication wins PATA Gold Award

Sands China has received recognition in the PATA Gold Awards 2025, winning in the Best Printed Marketing Campaign (Industry) category for its publication “In Search of Its Roots – An Illustrated History of Rua das Estalagens.”
This project involved collaboration with local cultural and artistic professionals, including the Macao Artist Society, author Siguo Chen, and illustrator Shirley Lu.
Local professionals handled all aspects of the publication, including interviewing, translating, editing, photography, illustrations, printing, and layout.
The author conducted in-depth interviews with neighborhood associations, merchants, and residents, capturing oral histories that highlight the street’s past characters, historical moments, and cultural anecdotes.
The book serves as a record of Rua das Estalagens and acknowledges the contributions of those who shaped Macau’s history. It has been included in school and public library collections across Macau, providing younger generations with insight into local history and encouraging the preservation of community heritage.
