Sands China course marks first graduates in stage technology and event production

Sands China celebrated the graduation of the first 12 students from its Stage Technology and Event Production Course, launched in 2021 to develop local talent for the city’s performing arts sector. Another 26 students remain enrolled across two cohorts.
The three-year programme, co-organised with Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional under the Education and Youth Development Bureau, combines classroom study with practical training. Graduates completed a nine-month internship in Sands China’s entertainment department, which manages six venues and has hosted over 850 performances since 2007.
Some graduates have been recruited by Sands China, while others plan to pursue higher education in media arts and related fields.
According to a statement released by the gaming operator, the curriculum covered stage design, lighting, audio production, and workplace skills.
The initiative aligns with the city’s “1+4” diversification strategy and aims to build a pool of skilled professionals for the entertainment industry.
