Under the Sands Cares global corporate citizenship program, Sands China Ltd. continued its long-standing support for the Peng On Tung Tele-Assistance program by recently donating MOP240,000 to the Peng On Tung Charity Foundation.
The donation was celebrated on Saturday at the General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau (UGAMM) Social Services Building, where 200 seniors and youth volunteers participated in intergenerational activities promoting inclusion and reciprocity.
According to Sands, their contribution helps subsidize economically disadvantaged seniors’ access to the Peng On Tung Tele-Assistance program and funds extended care initiatives such as home repairs and haircut services.
In a press release, executive vice chairman Dr. Wilfred Wong highlighted the role of caring and mutual support in building a resilient community.
“Caring and mutual support are the cornerstone of a strong community,” he said. Wong expressed sincere gratitude to the mentors, trainees, and volunteers for their commitment and service in fostering a supportive society.
Sands also pledges that it will continue to collaborate closely with the community “to build a harmonious, inclusive environment for all generations.”
