Scott Kreeger takes up post at GEG

Former SLS Las Vegas President and Chief Operating Officer Scott Kreeger has moved to Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) in Macau to manage the development of the resort’s Phase 4 expansion.

Kreeger, who formally left SLS Las Vegas on December 31 after more than two years at the resort, will join a host of other former executives from the North American gaming city, including GEG’s Chief Operating Officer Kevin Kelley and its president, Michael Mecca.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Kreeger used his knowledge of Las Vegas gaming trends to strengthen business at SLS. He was also responsible for ending the resort’s partnership with retailer Fred Segal and for closing the hotel’s buffet and Ku Noodle restaurant.

Kreeger was leading the resort when its owner, Stockbridge Capital Partners, signed a deal with now-partner W Resorts. At that point, W Resorts had been trying to gain a foothold on the Las Vegas casino strip for years, so the partnership signified a major success. Kreeger then described the deal as necessary for boosting business at the resort.

Kreeger spent more than 20 years in Las Vegas with MGM Resorts International and Station Casinos.
