Service sector grows, according to DSEC survey

Two hundred and sixteen establishments were engaged in real estate management services in 2015, down by seven year-on-year. According to the service sector survey released by the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), revenues in the sector amounted to MOP1.32 billion, up by 4.1 percent year-on-year. Expenditure increased by 4.5 percent to MOP1.09 billion.
According to the survey – which includes data on services related to real estate management, security, cleaning, advertising, and conference & exhibition organization – there were 38 establishments operating in security services in 2015, up by six year-on-year. Revenues amounted to MOP 1.69 billion, up by 41.5 percent year-on-year. Expenditure surged by 40.4 percent to MOP 1.53 billion.
A total of 157 establishments were operating in cleaning services in 2015, up by 18 year-on-
year. Receipts increased by 39.9 percent to MOP 956 million. Expenditure rose by 37.7 percent to MOP 830 million.
The survey indicates that the number of establishments operating in advertising services notably increased by 80 year-
on-year to 601. Receipts for this sector (MOP 917 million) recorded year-on-
year growth of 7.5 percent while expenditure amounted to MOP 804 million, up by 1.6 percent year-on-year.
A total of 67 establishments were operating in conference and exhibition organizing services, up by six year-
on-year. Revenues grew by 13.9 percent year-
on-year to MOP314 million while expenditure went up by 14.8 percent to MOP304 million.
