Studio City debuts ‘Stardust’ immersive flying experience

Studio City Macau unveiled its latest entertainment offering yesterday, “Studio City Stardust,” with a technical rehearsal of the 4D immersive flight simulation for distinguished guests and the media.

Behind the reimagined attraction, formerly known as the “Batman Dark Flight,” which opened in 2015, is Dynamic Entertainment, the renowned Canadian entertainment experience creator and mastermind behind numerous iconic attractions at world-class theme parks.

Speaking at the event, James Chui, co-chairman and CEO of Dynamic Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that the company’s involvement with the project represents a significant evolution in its relationship with the resort.

Chui recalled that Dynamic had previously worked with Studio City Macau 11 years ago in a supporting capacity, serving as an equipment and cargo logistics provider. He described the current project as a “dream” for his company, representing a transition from behind-the-scenes technical support to an active co-creator role.

Lawrence Ho, chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, emphasized the strategic importance of the new attraction, stating that Studio City Macau remains committed to its brand promise of “Fun Never Ends” through distinctive entertainment and leisure offerings.

“This new world-class entertainment attraction not only introduces a highly anticipated experience to the integrated resort, but also further enriches our entertainment portfolio,” Ho said.

“It strengthens Macau’s appeal to international visitors, supports the city’s economic diversification, and aligns with the government’s vision of building Macau into a ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure,’” he added.

Studio City Stardust features a dynamic motion seating system designed to deliver a highly immersive flight experience through multi-axis movement, with seats that move forward and backward to simulate the sensation of high-speed travel, while also providing height variations of up to one meter vertically.

The attraction is also equipped with a stereo sound system comprising 23 speakers. Multi-sensory effects, such as wind, fog and scent, are synchronized with the scenes, further enhancing the sense of immersion and reality.

Each session of Studio City Stardust accommodates up to 72 guests, with the full experience lasting approximately 15 minutes, including check-in, safety briefing, boarding and screening.

The attraction is located on Level 2 of the West Wing at Studio City Macau and operates daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
