Three economic housing projects may be available in early 2025

Describing New Urban Zone A as a mega construction site, Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosário disclosed that three Zone A economic housing projects might be fit for transfer in early 2025.

The transfer of rights of use for these apartments aims to provide for the applicants in the applications that opened in 2019.

According to public broadcaster TDM-Radio Macau (Chinese), Rosário said that he was confident that the construction of each of the three projects would conclude at the end of next year. Relevant work, such as pricing, would then commence accordingly.

Rosário pointed out that several construction works remain underway in the Zone, hinting that an early entry into these apartments may not be a good idea. He suggested successful buyers should wait temporarily, so as to experience an increased quality of living.

On the connections between the Zone and the main peninsula, Rosário said that a new connection would be available by the Lunar New Year. Enhancements to public facilities near the main roundabout of the Zone would also be conducted, he stated.

The convenience of travel between the Zone – or lack thereof – has long been criticized. When asked, Rosário said that construction contractors have been reminded to improve logistical considerations. However, the official added that additional bus routes are not “meaningful” at the stage because residents are not yet living in the Zone. AL
