Deputy executive director of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions and lawmaker Leong Sun Iok has suggested that the government make additional investments to assist older individuals re-enter the workforce, should they be willing. During the pandemic, many older workers lost their jobs. Despite being willing to resume work, this demographic faces challenges due to technical and skill mismatches. The trade unionist pledged further cooperation with the government to facilitate employment opportunities for these individuals.
