Traveler caught carrying HKD356,000 undeclared at HZMB checkpoint

A traveler was intercepted at the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge after allegedly failing to declare HKD356,000 when leaving mainland China. According to Gongbei Customs, the incident occurred at around 1 a.m. on March 28. Officers conducting inspections at the outbound passenger clearance area noticed abnormal images during baggage X-ray screening. A subsequent search of the traveler’s handbag uncovered a large amount of undeclared Hong Kong dollars, authorities said. The case is now under further investigation.
