Two held in casino exchange bust
Police seized HKD219,000 in cash and casino chips and RMB1,000 in two suspected illegal currency exchange cases during a casino inspection in central Macau yesterday. The suspects, mainland Chinese men surnamed Yang, 47, and Xie, 35, are both unemployed. Police said Yang had engaged in illegal exchange since April last year, while Xie allegedly started last month. Both were transferred to the Public Prosecution Office for investigation on suspicion of operating illegal currency exchange for gambling.
