UM presents Teaching Excellence Award to tourism academic

The University of Macau (UM) has presented this year’s Teaching Excellence Award to Assistant Professor Yang Xi in the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), to recognize her outstanding performance in teaching. According to the UM, the recipient was selected after a rigorous process, examining criteria such as teaching philosophy, depth of knowledge in the subject area, outstanding communication skills, teaching effectiveness and outstanding contributions to the quality of curriculum development. The UM noted that Yang’s teaching philosophy and approach boils down to experience management, a key concept that originated in the service industry
