A large metal frame being transported on a truck fell off while driving on Rua dos Cavaleiros in Taipa on Jan. 14 shortly after 1 p.m. The moment was caught on the dashcam of a vehicle following behind and posted online, subsequently going viral. According to the Public Security Police (PSP), the incident caused damage to the stone curb and the road surface. The truck was driven by a local male driver in his 60s, who passed an alcohol test. He was charged by police with “failing to control speed on a curve,” “unsafe load carriage,” and “cargo exceeding the truck bed dimensions.”
