-2-Foto-1To usher in the Year of the Monkey, the Macau Professional and Executive Women Association, and the Zonta Club of Macau held a Chinese New Year celebration last week at the Macau Science Center.
More than 160 children and adults enjoyed festive celebrations at the center from morning until late afternoon. They included children from the Cradle of Hope Association, Macau Down Syndrome Association and Caritas School of Macau.
Participants were offered some light refreshments before proceeding to the Planetarium to watch the award-winning 3D film, “The Life of Trees.”
Afterward, the group was seated at the Central Station for the “Science Express” and entertained by a Science Drama, entitled “The Dinosaur Island.” Accompanied by staff of the Macau Science Center, the children were then shown various galleries and exhibitions such as the state-of-the-art robot demonstration, and interactive science exhibits.
The event was supported by various social welfare groups and associations in Macau, and attended by Celeste Wong, the president of the Social Welfare Bureau.
Christiana Ieong, the charter president of the Zonta Club of Macau, thanked all the guests and supporting groups for their collaboration and contribution, as well as the Macau Science Center and its volunteers.
The Zonta Club of Macau is part of Zonta International; a global non-profit organization of professional women who aim to advance the status of women around the world.
