Distinguished guests presented the awards to champions of the men’s and women’s singles, Mr. Lin Shidong and Ms. Sun Yingsha.
As the first high-tier international table tennis tournament following the 2024 Paris Olympics, the WTT Champions Macao 2024 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group and organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, World Table Tennis (WTT), and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), was successfully concluded recently. The exciting seven-day tournament was held from world’s finest table tennis players, captivating both local residents and tourists with their exceptional performances. This marked the fifth consecutive time that GEG has been involved in the WTT event since its debut in Macau. This time, GEG continued to provide multifaceted support to the event, working closely with other organizers to hold an array of extended activities to promote Macau’s unique cross-sectoral “tourism + sports” charm while deepening sports exchanges in the community.
The seven-day tournament held at Macao East Asian Games Dome comprised a total of 62 matches, gathering elite table tennis players for a showcase of their exceptional performances to table tennis fans.
The fierce competition among top global players completely captivated the audience, fueling a dynamic and exhilarating atmosphere on site.
GEG arranged the “Love Between Fairy and Devil” immersive VR booth outside the competition venue, with actor dressed in Hanfu introducing audiences to the unique immersive experience, further showcasing Macau’s unique cross-sectoral “tourism +sports” appeal.
With GEG’s support and arranged by WTT, two youth champion players Mr. Xiang Peng and Ms. Kuai Man were invited to join the “Double Celebrations – GEG Macau Special Olympics Inclusive Table Tennis Fun Day 2024” event held at Broadway Macau and engaged with Macau Special Olympic athletes, sharing competition insights and the spirit of sports.
Accompanied by members of the GEG Volunteer Team, members of various community groups were invited to watch the matches on-site to experience the exhilarating atmosphere and table tennis craze.
WTT players Ms. Chen Xingtong and Mr. Truls Moregard held an autograph session at the East Square of Galaxy Macau, interacting with fans and creating a memorable experience.
