58 suspected illegal lodgings sealed in first four months
Authorities sealed 58 suspected illegal lodging units in Macau between January and April 2025, according to the Macao Government Tourism Office. A total of 75 joint operations were conducted, inspecting 169 units during the period. The figures were provided in response to a written inquiry by lawmaker Lo Choi In. Director Helena de Senna Fernandes noted that sanction procedures have begun against suspected offenders. She urged the public to report such cases, which are often hidden in residential areas.
