Airport announces security strategy for 2016

Three subsidiaries of the Macau International Airport Company Ltd. (CAM) held a “2015 Result Evaluation” meeting and a “2016 Work Plan Presentation” earlier this month at the CAM Office Building.
Upholding the principle of “Safety, Efficiency, Effectiveness,” the Administration of Airports Ltd. (ADA), Airport Information Management Solutions (AIMS), and Macau International Airport Security (SEMAC) have all enhanced the overall service standards of the airport, claims a press statement from their parent company, CAM.
Patrick Ong, Chief Executive Officer of ADA, said at the administration subsidiary held four security drills in 2015 to promote awareness of safety and security, and had conducted four investigations in cooperation with IACM to assess the impact of local wildlife – such as birds – on aircraft movements.
He said that ADA will continue to strengthen the efficiency of management and assist CAM in front line operations.
Managing Director of AIMS, Sharon Wang, highlighted that the information technology subsidiary was committed to the construction of the “Virtual Airport”.
Wang announced plans to further promote the use of smart phone apps and the usage of the business website of the airport. She added that AIMS will be working toward a Data Center Network and the implementation of cloud solutions during 2016.
The Deputy General Manager of Macau Security Company, Tai Peng Fong, told representatives at the meeting that SEMAC was committed to ensuring the security of over 55,000 flights and 5.83 million passengers.
From this year, SEMAC plans to implement a series of optimization works for hardware and in operations to improve emergency management mechanisms.
The meeting was well-attended by representatives of CAM and the three subsidiary companies, said a statement from the airport company.
