The city’s fiscal reserve reached a record high of MOP668.4 billion as of the end of December 2025, according to data released by the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM). This surpasses the previous peak of MOP663.5 billion recorded in February 2021, representing a 0.7% increase. Over the course of 2025, investments generated a positive return of nearly MOP43 billion. The reserve grew by MOP50.5 billion over the past year – significantly higher than the MOP35.7 billion increase recorded in 2024. However, the strongest annual performance remains 2019, before the pandemic, when the reserve grew by MOP70.6 billion.
