Briefs | Three new bus stops ready for Hengqin port

 

In order to facilitate the opening of the new Hengqin port, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) will open three new bus stops. These stops, are closely grouped along Estrada Flor de Lótus. One stop accommodates bus numbers 15, 21A, 25, 26, 26A, 50 and N3, which all head to Coloane. The second hosts bus lines 15, 21A, 25, 25B, 26, 26A, 50, MT4 and N3, all going towards Macau peninsula. The last one only receives line 701X which transports passengers to the Macau immigration facility of the new Hengqin port. All three stops have been named Lotus Flower Bridge. On the other side of Estrada Flor de Lótus, buses 25B, 50 and 701X will have another stop along the route towards the port. Bus route 701X runs 24 hours a day.

Advisor wants walking path leading to Hac Sa beach

The advisory body of the island district has suggested the local government build a walking path all the way to Hac Sa Beach. Three members of the council, including Ng Chi Lung, pointed out that drivers occupying private parking lots, pedestrians jaywalking, and small bus frequencies, are among the problems for walkers in the area. The advisors proposed that the government build skyways at the premise of the beach to divert pedestrians from jaywalking and from risks of traffic accidents, including a lift connecting Estrada de Hac Sa and Hac Sa Beach barbecue area, in order to improve road safety, and the creation a facility for the public to view the sight of the entire Hac Sa Beach coastal view.

Portuguese-speakers to build art hotel in Taipa

A group of Portuguese-speaking individuals have decided to jointly build an art hotel in Taipa, according to a report by Macao Daily News. The hotel will be titled the Center of the China, Macao, and Portuguese Speaking Countries’ Artists. The President of the China, Macao and Portuguese Speaking Countries Artists’ Association, Eduardo Ambrósio, and Macau local artist Ieong Tai Meng (who is also chairman of the association) said that they have already planned to build the hotel on a land plot in Taipa. The center will aim at providing more diverse services to China and Portuguese-speaking countries. An inauguration ceremony of the commencement of the construction of the art hotel will take place today at 3 p.m.
