CE strengthens ties with Peking University and CPPCC

Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai met with Peking University Rector Gong Qihuang at Government Headquarters earlier this week, exchanging views on deepening cooperation in higher education, academic research, and talent training between Macau and Mainland China.
The Government Information Bureau (GCS) stated that Sam praised Peking University’s global prestige and noted the growing number of Macau students studying there. He expressed gratitude for the university’s ongoing support in cultivating qualified professionals vital to the region’s development.
The CE referenced his own inaugural Policy Address, which outlines government priorities for 2025 and beyond, focusing on economic diversification and the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
Sam commended Peking University’s continued cooperation in fostering exchanges with Macau’s higher education institutions to support economic transformation, as well as nurturing high-quality talent.
The meeting included key officials from both sides, such as Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture O Lam, and Peking University’s Dean of the Faculty of Law Guo Li.
Earlier, on June 10, the CE met with Xian Hui, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at the Government Headquarters. During this meeting, the Chief Executive highlighted his inaugural Policy Address in April, setting forth the broad governance framework for 2025 and the years ahead. NS
