The first phase of the Citizens’ Sports Park project on the former Yat Yuen Canidrome site opened for public tender in July, with the Public Works Bureau (DSOP) announcing the project was awarded for MOP1.34 billion and a construction period of 964 working days. Covering 40,425 square meters, Phase 1 includes demolishing existing structures and building Pavilions 1 through 3, which will feature a swimming pool, skateboarding area, rock-climbing facility, children’s bicycle track, various ball sports facilities, and an outdoor activity area, along with an underground parking garage for cars and motorcycles.
