Corporate Bits | CEM attends 4th Guangdong, HK and Macau Power Industry Summit

20140808_151314To strengthen communication and cooperation among the power companies in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, China Southern Power Grid Co. Ltd (CSP), CLP Holdings Limited (CLP), China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) and Companhia de Electricidade de Macau – CEM. S.A. (CEM) jointly organize the annual “Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Summit”. The top management of the power companies exchange experience in various topics in a bid to achieve further development and cooperation throughout the region. The 4th Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Power Industry Summit was held by CGN in Yinchuan, Ningxia from 7 – 9 August.
Top executives attending the Summit included CSG Chairman Zhao Jianguo, CLP Holdings Limited’s CEO Richard Lancaster, CGN Chairman He Yu and Principal Advisor to CEM’s Executive Committee João Travassos da Costa. This year under the theme of “Moving Forward with Clean Energy”, representatives from the four companies shared their experiences.
Special guests Zhang Guobao, the National Energy Commission’s Expert Council Director, Zhou Da Di, Deputy Director-general of the China Energy Research Society, and Li Junfeng, Director of the National Center for Climate Strategy, were invited to give keynote speeches on “Sustainable Development of Nuclear Power”, “Energy Transformation and Upgrade in the China and Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Regions” and “Sustainable Development and Challenges Associated with Clean Energy” respectively.

吳長江WU Changjiang - 高原牧場 Highlands RanchThe Masters in Painting – Works of Contemporary Artists exhibition will be held at The Venetian Macao’s Naples Ballroom from Aug. 19-28, providing locals and tourists with an opportunity to appreciate art as well as serving as a platform for cultural exchange. This year’s Masters in Painting marks the third art exhibition in this series at The Venetian Macao, following the success of the past two exhibitions, which attracted visitors from all around the world and received positive reviews from the field of fine arts.
The free-admission art exhibition is organized by the Institute of Calligraphy and Paintings of CRICH, co-organized by The Venetian Macao and Beijing Hong Bao Bo Yi Cultural Development Company Limited, and supported by the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the MSAR’s Department of Culture and Education together with the Macau Artist Society.
Masters in Painting – Works of Contemporary brings together 108 pieces by 54 of mainland China and Macau’s renowned contemporary painters, portraying natural scenery, personalities, flowers, and birds. Participating artists include Ma Zhensheng; Pan Gongkai; Wu Changjiang, and Li Xiaoke. Macau artists whose works are also on display at the exhibition include Lai Ieng, President of the Macau Artist Society; Sun Jiangtao; Li Desheng; Liu Fuye; Guan Quanchang; and Pan Jinling.
