Customs seizes 11 smugglers

Customs recently intercepted 11 cross-border traders, including seven who tried to smuggle a total of 136.5 kilograms of unquarantined plant branches and leaves into Macau. The cases have been handed over to the Municipal Affairs Bureau for follow-up. Since July 18, customs stopped individuals aged 46 to 72 at border points including Gongbei and Hengqin. Among them, two were caught with old computer processors and mobile phones hidden in pockets and bags. Four suspects face prosecution under the Foreign Trade Law after attempting to smuggle seafood, poultry eggs, and meat products.
