The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) launched several measures yesterday to optimize the application process for identification documents.
The measures, which are said to further enhance convenience for residents applying for these documents, include the addition of an “expedited application” option to the electronic travel document application service to address residents’ urgent travel needs.
Since yesterday, residents can opt for the newly added “expedited application” option when applying for a Macau SAR Passport or Macau SAR Travel Permit through Macao One Account services or self-service kiosks.
Another newly introduced measure is a self-service system for submitting supplementary photos for identification documents.
To simplify the process of submitting photos, applicants who have received a notice from DSI to submit supplementary photos for their Macau SAR Resident Identity Cards, Macau SAR travel documents, or Visit Permit to Hong Kong can complete the formalities by using the self-service application kiosks available at eight government 24-hour self-service centers in Macau, as well as similar centers in Hengqin and at the Macao New Neighborhood.
Applicants only need to select the “Submit a supplementary photo” option at the kiosk. They can choose to use either a photo taken on-site at the self-service kiosk or a photo from their “My Photos” in Macao One Account as their supplementary photo. After submission, the photo will be automatically sent to DSI for follow-up processing.
