Film | Second IFFAM to feature Malaysian star

The second edition of the International Film Festival & Awards Macao (IFFAM) is set to feature Malaysian star actress Michelle Yeoh in an in-conversation session on December 14, Variety reported.

The festival, which will be held from December 8 to 14, will also screen Yeoh’s 2010 film “Reign of Assassins” directed by Su Chao-pin.

The Malaysian actress has starred in movies including, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “Tomorrow Never Dies” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”.

The line-up for IFFAM’s “Special Presentation” will include “The Shape of Water”
directed by Guillermo Del Toro, George Clooney’s “Suburbicon”, Yojiro Takita’s “The Last Recipe” and “Love is Colder than Death,” by local director Ho Fei, amongst others.

The festival’s jury president Laurent Cantet will introduce a special presentation of his latest film “The Workshop” (“L’Atelier”), which screened in the “Un Certain Regard” category at Cannes this year.

Meanwhile this year’s talent ambassadors include Hollywood star Jeremy Renner who starred as “Hawkeye” in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s international blockbusters, including; Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Captain America: Civil War (2016).

Hong Kong’s movie stars Donnie Yen and Miriam Yeung, along with South Korea’s Do Kyung-Soo, better known by his stage name D.O., who is a K-pop singer and actor, will also be talent ambassadors for the festival.
