Five micro movies produced by local filmmakers premiered at The Londoner Macao yesterday as part of the 2022 New Art Studies in Filming – Micro Movie Support Program.
The program was organized by the Creative Industries Promotion Association of St. Lazarus Church District and sponsored by Sands China Ltd (SCL).
The initiative aims to enhance the skills of local film and television creative professionals, and support the development of filmmaking talent in the city.
22 teams submitted applications for movie production, with five teams selected and funded to produce their micro movies based on their concepts.
The completed movies unveiled at yesterday’s premiere were “D’oro Bistro,” “Travel in Place,” “Unlock,” “The List,” and “Hang Up.”
The program’s president, Patrick Wong Sio Chon, expressed his gratitude to Sands China for their support in making the premiere a success.
Wilfred Wong, president of SCL, said “the program’s sponsorship demonstrates the company’s commitment to nurturing local filmmakers in line with the Macau SAR government’s policy of moderate economic diversification and the ‘tourism + art’ initiative.”
