Gov’t expands green energy push with new EV charging and solar plans

Local authorities are stepping up efforts to expand green energy use, with plans to install solar photovoltaic systems in new public buildings and sports facilities. The Environmental Protection Bureau said a supercharging station for light and heavy vehicles will be set up in Cotai by mid-2026, with additional charging and battery-swapping facilities to be added in public car parks and streets depending on demand and site conditions. The bureau also said it is working with other agencies to monitor fuel price stability and support the transition from gasoline vehicles to electric mobility amid global energy fluctuations.
