The hotel occupancy rate reached 90.2% in April, up 2.4 percentage points year-on-year, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). All hotel categories recorded gains, with 5-star hotels at 93%, 4-star at 88.2% and 3-star at 84.6%. Total hotel guests fell slightly by 0.8% to 1.19 million. Visitors from mainland China and Hong Kong declined, while international arrivals rose 8.1%, led by strong growth from South Korea and Thailand, though demand from India and Malaysia weakened. For the first four months of 2026, average occupancy stood at 91.8%, with total hotel guests up 1.9% year-on-year.
