Ho Iat Seng leads NPC vote

Legislative Assembly President Ho Iat Seng received the most votes (440) among 15 candidates to represent Macau in the National People’s Congress (NPC), the People’s Republic of China’s main legislative body.

Four of the 12 members were elected to the NPC delegation for the first time: Dominic Sio (433), Ng Su Lai (413), Lai Sai Kei (377) and Si Ka Lon (316). Besides Ho Iat Seng, Chui Sai Peng (420), Kou Hoi In (422), Lao Ngai Leong (437), Lok Po (430), Paula Ling (382), Ho Sut Heng (394) and Iong Weng Ian (432) maintain their seats. Kevin Ho (288), Wong Ian Man (157) and Fong Ka Fai (203) were cast out. The electoral college was composed of 466 members. Some 462 ballots were validated and four were considered invalid.
