IAS planning caregiver support center in northern district
The Social Affairs Bureau (IAS) is working with a community organization to establish a caregiver support center in the northern district this year, offering personalized and family-based care plans to help caregivers manage stress and access available resources. The bureau said the caregiver allowance has been increased to MOP2,400 and eligibility expanded to include people with mental disabilities. The bureau said it would further study proposals to lower the eligibility threshold for the allowance, while continuing to work with community organizations to provide emotional support, respite care and in-home assistance.
