The Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM) is calling on local fashion designers to enter two of China’s most prominent fashion competitions, offering a rare opportunity to showcase their talent on a major stage with designers of all ages. The 35th Jeanswest Casual Wear Design Contest and the 34th Hempel Award are now open for Macau entries, with CPTTM serving as the local submission hub.
The Jeanswest contest, organized jointly by the China Fashion Designers Association, China Fashion Association, and Jeanswest International (Hong Kong) Limited, imposes no age restrictions, making it accessible to designers of all generations.
This year’s theme is “I AM…” Participants are required to submit a casual wear collection comprising four original pieces that have never been published or entered into other competitions. Both menswear and womenswear are accepted, and there is no limit on the number of entries per participant. The Macau deadline for the Jeanswest contest is June 16.
However, the Hempel Award, co-organized by the China Fashion Designers Association and Hempel International Group, is open exclusively to designers born on or after January 1, 1986. The theme for the 34th edition is “Transient Union.” Entrants must present a creative fashion collection of three to five original, unpublished pieces, with no restrictions on gender or the number of submissions. The Macau deadline for the Hempel Award is July 2.
Finalists for both competitions are expected to be announced in July. Selected participants must travel to the mainland with their finished garments to compete in the finals in person.
CPTTM has pledged to provide technical and administrative support to Macau finalists throughout the process. Submission guidelines and detailed competition information are available on the CPTTM website’s competition section. Ricaela Diputado
