Maintenance warning signage taken down due to wording error

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) was alerted to a maintenance sign at a renovation site that contained errors in Chinese, Portuguese, and English and had not been verified beforehand after it circulated on social media last Sunday morning.
The construction site is located on Rua Central da Areia Preta, where the IAM conducted an investigation.
It was confirmed after follow-up actions that the contractor responsible for the project admitted to producing and posting the notice without verification by the IAM.
The involved contractor was instructed by the bureau to rectify and correct the notice.
The IAM also stressed that the enclosure of construction areas and posting of notices must be strictly implemented in accordance with regulations.
The IAM will penalize the company involved according to the engineering contract and plans to strengthen inspections across all construction sites. Ricaela Diputado
